IFK Göteborg lost to AIK 2-1 after a tough match. Rockson Yeboah's mistakes in defense proved costly.
What happened during the match?
IFK Göteborg's central defender Rockson Yeboah had a tough time against AIK. He was close to being sent off in the 26th minute after a weak backpass. Axel Kouame got to the ball first and Yeboah ended up on the back foot. It became an intense duel where Yeboah clearly pulled Kouame's jersey. Referee Kristoffer Karlsson let it go and the AIK camp was visibly irritated.
Reactions after the match
Assistant coach Joachim Björklund was far from pleased with Yeboah's defensive performance. – It's again a lack of concentration, says Björklund. Yeboah was himself disappointed after the match, but he doesn't think it's about a lack of concentration on his part. – Whenever I start a match, I try to do my best, he says.
What's next?
Björklund points out that the defense is giving up easy chances. – We can't afford to concede goals out of nothing, he says. IFK Göteborg will continue to work on their defensive game, but Björklund also opens up for signings. – We'll continue to work or look for alternatives when the window opens, he says.
