IFK Göteborg may be entitled to compensation after the match against Örgryte IS was cancelled. Consumer ombudsman Erika Herrlin explains what applies. The match between Örgryte IS and IFK Göteborg was cancelled again on 17 119. It was the attendance at the derby between Örgryte IS and IFK Göteborg on Monday, May 18. The paying spectators only got to see 39 minutes. Since the match was cancelled due to disorderly conduct and was played out in front of empty stands the next day. Örgryte has opposed compensation. In a statement, the club has stated that the general terms for ticket sales do not entitle anyone to compensation if the event is cancelled. Consumer ombudsman Erika Herrlin explains that if you buy a service and it does not become as promised, you always have the right to complain, to report the service. The service did not become as it should, says Erika Herrlin. What you could be entitled to is either a price reduction or to get everything back. Erika Herrlin explains that it also depends a bit on when the event is cancelled, in which stage. As in this case, it is a football match and then it is clear that you want to see the whole match. It's not like a concert where there are different acts. If you want to see a whole match and don't get to do it, then you can of course argue for getting everything back. Sometimes it needs to be reviewed. But that's the basic idea. Örgryte has said that they have received emails with questions about possible compensation, mainly from ticket buyers on the away section. These questions have been answered, and they have at the same time informed about the agreement that exists with IFK Göteborg, which means that the income from the away sections on the short side falls to them.
